Lazy people want much but get little, but those who work hard will prosper.
This morning I stumbled across the picture above and my heart skipped a beat. It’s a picture of our two little boys watching their daddy work hard. Watching him do what he loves. Watching him provide. They are looking up to him.
One of the many things that attracted me to Deon is that he always knew what he wanted to do with his life [unlike myself who’s working on a second degree]. From the first day we met he knew he was going to drive a semi like his daddy.
When he got his CDL at the age of 21 [three years after we were married] we both cried like babies when he rode away on that greyhound bus for his first driving job. We hadn’t spent a night away from each other since our wedding day.
Sometimes I still cry when he’s gone [not every day is easy], but I am always thankful. I am thankful he has a job he loves.
I am thankful that his job has allowed me to stay at home with our babies and pursue any career path [or Bible study…or mom group] I desired at the time.
I am thankful that his job has provided our boys with opportunities to visit places others may never see. Such as New York City, the Grand Canyon, and Mount Rushmore to name a few.
I am thankful for his passion to provide for his family. To give us a good life. His hands stay dirty so ours can be filled. Filled with wants, needs, memories, and dreams.
I am thankful for my hardworking husband.
